Thessaloniki Tango Party Festival, the largest dance anf tango festival in Greece, proudly announces that it has received—for the third consecutive year—the official auspices of the Embassy of Argentina in Greece.
From August 27 to September 1, 2025, Thessaloniki transforms once again into an international capital of tango. With breathtaking open-air milongas, captivating concerts, educational activities, and the warm embrace of Greek hospitality, the festival continues to welcome dancers and music lovers from across the globe.
This recognition by the Embassy of Argentina in Greece reflects the festival’s longstanding dedication to cultural diplomacy, artistic quality, and heartfelt community. It also highlights the strong and ever-deepening cultural ties between Argentina and Greece.
This year’s edition comes with some gentle evolutions, aiming to preserve the festival’s inclusive and philanthropic essence while ensuring its long-term sustainability. Participation in festival activities will now be confirmed through a simple registration process, tied to a symbolic donation of one’s choice. In return, guests receive a personal QR code pass, enabling them to fully join and enjoy the dance, the classes, and the community—while also directly supporting the nonprofit partner SYZOI (www.syzoi.gr), which empowers people with disabilities in Thessaloniki.
“This festival belongs to everyone,” says Pavlos Mavromatis, co-director and founder of Tango Secrets.
“A small act of support opens the door to a big celebration,” adds Spiros Alexiou of Tango Thessaloniki. “We are deeply honored to receive the auspices once again, and ready to welcome the world.”
